Panagiota N. Brani works as a midwife at Alexandra General Hospital. She is a graduate of the Department of Midwifery of Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Athens (1993). In 2015 she obtained a Master’s Degree in ” Pathology in Pregnancy ” from the Medical School of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, with a degree: 8.42 (Very Good). From December 2018, she is a PhD candidate at the University of Western Attica, of the Department of Midwifery. The title of her doctoral dissertation is “Breastfeeding in High Risk Pregnancy-The parameters which affect positively or negatively to mother’s intention and behavior in breastfeeding”.
She has many years of clinical experience as a midwife, in the High Risk Pregnancy Department of the General Hospital Alexandra (21 years old), as well as experience in other clinical areas (maternity wards, delivery room and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), in private and public hospitals.
She is a member of the Breastfeeding Committee of the General Assembly of the Alexandra hospital. She has participated as a speaker in conferences as well as in organizing seminars at Alexandra Hospital, on the subject of Breastfeeding. Also since 2014, she is in collaboration with the Health Promotion Office, the Social Service of the Municipality of Ag. Anargiri- Kamatero and participates voluntarily in the organization and implementation of preventive medicine programs carried out in the same municipality.
Since 2015 she has been active in public and private education. Initially, as a laboratory associate at the TEI of Athens, Department of Midwifery (Gynecology Clinic, Department of High Risk Pregnancy and maternity wards), and then as a clinical collaborator of the University of West Attica, Department of Midwifery. Also from 2018, until today, she is a laboratory / clinical collaborator of AEGEAN College, Department of Midwifery (maternity wards and department of High Risk Pregnancy). During the academic year 2018-2019 she taught the theoretical course “Pregnancy Pathology” at the Department of Midwifery of AEGEAN College.
