Evangelia Antoniou is Associate Professor at Midwifery Department, in School of Health and Welfare Sciences, in University of West Attica (UNI.W.A.). She has obtained MS’c degree in Applied Public Health. She holds a Ph.D in domestic violence in pregnancy. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the MS’c Program in http://researchreproduction.gr/site/, is the director of the research ‘Laboratory of Midwifery Care during Antenatal and Post natal period- Breastfeeding’  and Vice- President of the Board of Directors in the Non Profit Organization ‘Fainareti’. She has an extensive clinical experience in public and private obstetric settings, providing antenatal and postnatal midwifery care services and domestic violence women’s care.She has published research articles and reviews with plethora of citations and has written (as author and co-author) 15 books. She is reviewer in BJOG: BJOG-19-1242.  Since 1983, she has taught a variety of clinical undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

She was Scientific Supervisorof a research project entitled “Multimedia Usage and Connection to the ProductiveSpaceAiming to Upgrade the Curriculum” in the Department of Midwifery of TEI of Athens in the context of Action 3.1.a. ‘Curricula-Writings’ from theSecond Community Support Framework, Operational Program for Education and Initial Vocational Training.She has participated in the following EU funded and co-funded projects a) ‘Employment Enhancement and Social Services Integration in Athens Municipality-ESTI@’ (VS/2016/0210, European project ‘EaSI 2014-2020’), b) ‘Promotion of perinatal mental health in Greece’ (MIS 441361, NSRF 2007-2013), c) ‘Counselling and Support of Immigrant pregnant women and new mothers’, d)  ‘Day Centre for the Care of the Mental Health of Women(postpartum disorder)’(MIS 120007, 3rd Community Framework Program) and e) ‘Development of research tools for domestic violence assessment’ (Contract No. 2/2007),  Centre for Mental Diseases of Chania (nr.37/ 3/30-4-2007).
